A Little Editorial, A Lot of Romance
This session was EVERYTHING! We started as the sun was setting and when the sun got lower, the session started to have a really dreamy feel.
The movement of the water, the way the light wrapped around them, and the quietness of the lake created such a romantic atmosphere. It almost felt like something out of an editorial shoot, but still very natural and real at the same time.
That’s always the balance I’m chasing when I photograph couples. Photos that feel artistic and intentional, but still tell the story of you.
Ending the Session in the Water
Toward the end of the session we stepped into the water, and honestly that’s when things got really magical. There’s something about lake sessions at sunset that just works. The reflections, the soft ripples in the water, the way the light hits everything right before the sun disappears. They danced, held each other close, splashed and had fun.
Those moments ended up being some of my favorites from the entire evening. It felt unique, romantic, and completely them.
Why I Love Lake Sessions
Lakes are one of my favorite places for couples photos in Central Texas.
They’re simple, natural, and the light at sunset tends to be incredibly beautiful. There’s also so much room to move around, which makes it easy to create a mix of wide scenic photos and more intimate moments. And of COURSE, ending the session in the water makes for some really unforgettable images if you want to.
Couples session in Central Texas
If you're dreaming about engagement photos or a couples session somewhere around Central Texas, lakes can be an incredible setting for something relaxed and romantic like this. My approach to photographing couples is always centered around connection and story. I want sessions to feel less like posing for photos and more like spending time together somewhere beautiful.
If you're looking for a Central Texas couples photographer and love the idea of a session that feels natural, creative, and a little adventurous, I’d love to help you plan something like this. Whether it’s a quiet lake at sunset, wildflower fields in the spring, or somewhere completely new, the goal is always the same. Creating photos that feel like you.
