Best Photoshoot Locations in Temple & Belton, Texas (Local Photographer’s Guide)

If you’re looking for the best photoshoot locations around Temple and Belton, Texas, you’re in the right place. I spend a lot of time shooting in this area, and there are certain spots I keep coming back to because they just work, great backgrounds, pretty light, easy parking, the whole thing.

Whether you’re planning engagements, seniors, families, or just want updated photos, here are my favorite spots in Temple/Belton and what they’re best for.

1. Chalk Ridge Falls (Belton, Texas)

For those looking for an all around photoshoot location in Temple/Belton area, this one’s a favorite for a reason. Wooden bridges, water, little falls, and tons of greenery. If you love that earthy, warm, outdoorsy style, this place never misses.

Great for: engagements, elopements, maternity, couples who don’t mind walking a bit.

2. The Belton Lake Parks & Overlooks

There are several pull-offs and parks around the lake that give you open sky, water views, and golden-hour glow. Easy access, easy parking, and tons of variety without walking far.

Great for: couples, individuals, families, maternity, anyone

wanting something simple and pretty.

3. Belton Downtown Square

If you want something with a little more texture and color, downtown Belton has brick walls, cute storefronts, alleys, and neutral backgrounds. It gives that clean, modern vibe without

feeling too “city.”

Great for: branding shoots, seniors, casual couples sessions.

4. Lions Park (Temple, Texas)

Lions Park is one of the easiest, most versatile spots in Temple. The open fields, scattered trees, little walking paths, and clean backgrounds make it super flexible for any type of session. At sunset, the light comes through the trees in the prettiest way, and the fields get that soft golden glow that photographs so well.

Great for: families, seniors, casual couples sessions, kids who need space to run around.

5. The Creek in Downtown Belton (Belton, Texas) Photo shoot locations in Temple and Belton Texas

This little stretch of creek running through downtown Belton is such an underrated spot. You get water, stone textures, greenery, and even some subtle downtown elements nearby. It’s perfect if you want a mix of nature + town vibes without driving all over the place. Depending on the water level, we can get shots by the edge, on the rocks, or even wading in a little for something more fun.

Great for: couples, seniors, branding sessions with a more outdoorsy feel, and anyone who wants something different from the usual spots.

How to Choose the Best Photoshoot Location in Temple / Belton, Texas

Here’s what I usually ask when helping clients pick their spot:

  • Do you want greenery or something more simple/neutral?

  • Are you okay with walking a little or do you want easy access?

  • Do you like water, fields, or a more downtown feel?

  • Are we shooting at sunrise or sunset? (Some locations shine at certain times.)

If you’re not sure, I always help clients choose the best spot based on the vibe you want and the lighting that will work best that day.
